Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I started my career in Graphic Arts and Web Design back in 2002. Like most Graphic Artists, I had to start at the bottom which wasn't quite what I was hoping it would be. My first job right out of college was working for a retirement home teaching the elderly how to use computers. I had my own office and two computers. The residents of the retirement home could come visit my office anytime they felt the need to learn something new or just to simply use the computers to email family and friends. It was a clever idea but needless to say, I didn't receive too many visitors.
Once my contract ran out with the retirement home, I landed a job in a small web design company called Modern Earth Inc. This was my official start to my creative career. I witnessed Modern Earth grow from a small 4 employee company to a company existing of multiple Graphic Designers, Programmers and Marketing staff.
I spent a few years at Modern Earth honing my skills but felt it necessary to move on to something a bit different. Instead of working on multiple projects ranging from Professional Speakers to Insurance Brokers, I found a job working for a larger company that focuses it's efforts on the Automotive Industry. The company was called DMT Development Systems Group Inc. and I worked there for almost 3 years.
After working at DMT, I found, what is now, my ultimate job working at Corus Radio Winnipeg which consists of CJOB 68, Power 97 and 99.1 Fresh FM. Here I have full creative freedom to design images for all three websites, help design decals for vehicles, put together small videos for their YouTube channels, interact with the listeners via social media and create ads for display on billboards, buses and print.
A little info on me as a person, I am a father of two, both a son and a daughter and married my high school sweetheart. I'm a huge Winnipeg Jets fan, a psychotic Guitar Hero fan and the creator of the website Winnipeg Jets Online.com.
My Winnipeg Jets website started out as a hobby, sort of a graphically intense fan site to honour and remember Winnipeg's glory days as a member of the National Hockey League. It has since become almost a full time job, responding to fan emails, making updates regarding relocation rumours and even speaking with the national and local media. I've met some great people throughout the website's existence and I hope that my visitors are enjoying it.
Have a run through my site to get a better understanding of me as a person and the work that I'm capable of producing. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me using the information found on my contact page.
